OG11－19题前人没有提到的疑问！

OG11中说the chemical that is irritating it 也是正确的，只是没有the chemical irritant 简洁。我的疑问是the chemical that is irritating it. 其中the chemical肯定指的是doxins，那么其中的it 指代什么呢，也指代the chemical 吗? 一个句子中的同一个词组可以做两个不同的成分吗？

这里得chemical 不是同谓语，是metabolize得宾语呀！

出现了the organism’s，后面跟attempt比跟trying好，因为前者是名词。

AB排除

attempt to try 语义重复，和possible,may一样的考点。

CD排除

E纠正了attempt to try的错误，并且表达方式是所有选项中最简洁的

多谢搂主的这个问题，基本搞明白了这道题：

-. it 指代的是"organism"，你带入try一下。

这道题的难点在于（不是考点，而是难点）两点：

1. 插入语“or render hamless”，不仅插入，而且还是倒着插入，实在不厚道。难句的典型标志之一。也就是说，不是出SC的题，单独一个句子就够看的了。不过从做题的角度，因为在两个逗号之间，而且在A~E的选项中竟然一致，故可以忽略不计的。

2. 两个看上去明明像adj的东西，竟然还同时是noun(chemical, irritant)。令像我这样英语基础较差的人很是尴尬！

最后的一个疑问:"the production of enzymes"

到底是说“酶的产物”，还是说“这个产物就是酶”？望老师们不吝赐教！

哈哈，是我太懒了。经查，自己回答了：

production 虽然有product的意思，但在AHD的首义为"the act or process of producing" “产生的行为和过程”。

终于明白了，原来是说dioxin induce（cause）了enzymes的”产生“。
