One more question please, if I mentioned I want to focuse on one concentration in my application essay, but finally transfer to another concentration after getting into B-school, is that OK? Will b-school keep you on track of your original objective? For example, if I say I want to study international businesses, but after admission to MBA, I choose finance, is that possible?
My gut feeling is that schools don't think schools care that you change your interest after starting your MBA. After all, people can very well change their interests after a few classes in B-school. I had friends who wanted to go into I-banking before MBA and after 1 year hated it and decided to pursue other sectors.
But on the safe side, you should always check with schools and see whether your concentration cannot be changed after admission. If so, you probably should stick to something you're mostly likely to be interested in the long term.
don't worry about that. for top school, there is no such limitation at all. b-school wishes all you guys can grasp a offer as soon as possible, who cares you change concentration or not.
