我笨笨的回答:
1)as后面连接the strongest businesses carry,不是句子所以只能用as,so用于否定,所以选A
2)its与the seven-store retailer said it 对应,所以选its,recent修饰slump,只能用形容词性
3)claims to

NO! here 'even' modifies 'carry'
2, '.... said ... had been ..."
3, claim to ...
'can' is not good here as it just show possibility while 'be able to' tells abilities
