885-B-19 "seem to have bothered"

19. Balzac drank more than fifty cups of coffee a day and died of caffeine poisoning; furthermore, caffeine did not seem to bother Samuel Johnson, the great writer and lexicographer, who was reported to have drunk twenty-five cups of tea at one sitting.
(A) furthermore, caffeine did not seem to bother

ANSWER: B
为什么C不对?


Caffeine didn't seem to bother S who (was reported to )have drunk 25 cups of tea at one sitting.


i totally lost. here, how can 'who have drunk' used with didn't seem to ?


why use "have drunk 25 cups", but not use" who drunk 25 cups of tea at one sitting"


help me please!

查查以前的帖子,有过一个很经典的回答,好像是关于肯定句和否定句用不定式完成时态的区别;惭愧,忘记是谁发的了,这么经典的帖子。
