个人感觉（没说到考点）：
b说的是人们吃高脂食物，在美国和法国比率相同，但是死亡率....
d说的是食物被消耗的比率在美国和法国是相同的，死亡率是...
d选项明显没说到人，就很奇怪，因为死亡率是关于人的，前面说高热量食物的消耗，后面说死亡率，有点前面后面说的不是一个事情的感觉。单纯的高热量食物消耗和死亡率感觉没太大关系。但是人们消耗高热量食物和死亡率是有关系的。你仔细体会一下这句话

大概理解了，就是说还是要提到人去consume高脂食物，后面再提到死亡率才比较合理

我认为D,E选项最大的问题是前面的the rate of XX，那D选项说：这个结构本身就有两种解读，而这两种解读都是错的。第一种解读的主语是说：一个被消耗的"the rate of fatty food" ，这样解读语义错的很离谱，第二种解读是：食物被消耗，而这个食物本身有个rate。这也是不合理的，因为不是食物有rate，而是人吃食物的这个动作有rate，但是这里的consumed作为修饰修饰food，是个次要成分，所以主语强调的就只是the rate of food，跟B相比，就不是很好。B选项是说people.. consumed food at the same rate,这里的"at the same rate"修饰的是consumed这个动作，是说动作有rate。同理E选项也是，变成了强调people有个rate

D选项我觉得还有个语义的问题是不能说“the rate is about the same”，只有两个rate互相比较，才能说他们是相同的，比如the rates at which people in A and B ... are about the same. 而B就避免了这个问题，他是说两个地方的人共享一个相同的rate，所以用单数的rate，就没有问题
