有疑问：OG11 Sentence correction 45th题

改选项错误。OG 解释如下：

The "recession" must be followed by "that", "were fearing" is the wrong tense..........

我不能同意OG给出的这两个解释点：

首先，"that" 在其引导的定语从句中作宾语，应该是可以忽略也可以保留的，所以没有必要说"recession must be followed by that", 不是吗？

第二，"were fearing" 应该也是正确的时态，为什么非得是"had feared"?其实后来我多想想，到觉得"had feared" 反而有些说不过去.

虽然og给的解释看不懂，但是后来我分析了一下d的话

逻辑不通，如果economy作两个to的主语，语法也是错的

the gains in the stock market reflect growing confidence that the economy will avoid the recession that many had feared earlier in the year and instead come
    

这是一个双重定语从句, 第二个that是不能省略的; 语法书上说第一个that, 也就是confidence后的that可省, 具体在GMAT中没有仔细验证过

至于were fearing, 用过去进行时不行吧, 过去进行时我觉得一般表示短时间内的. early in the year时间标志是过去完成时, 表示早先作出的预测. 这儿不知道一般过去时可不可以?

反正我读了几遍，省略了that读起来很别扭。

关于双重定语从句（例句应该是嵌入式定语从句吧）第一个that可省，第二个that不可省的语法依据哪里可以找到啊，GOOGLE了半天都找不到。。。
