为什么这里的the more recently discovered 能做主语，如果是省略的话，还原过来应该是the more recently discovered one is the larger one; 省略至少应该保留一个吧，这里是因为有别的知识点吗？ 后面强调句中也没有省 the smaller one；

请赐教

我觉得这里没有省略，是介词短语做状语。

后半句应该是强调结构：It is/was + 被强调部分（主语、宾语或状语）+ that/who 从句。

原文翻译：在这两颗超新星中，虽然那颗大的被发现得晚一点，但是正是那颗小的超新星颠覆了天文学家对宇宙起源的看法。
