Hi everybody,

Since my computer is using English operation system, I am sorry that I have to input the experiences of CBT in Toronto in English.

Listening/Structure/Reading: 30/25/55

Listening: It is much harder than PBT. It is very difficult to gain the score high than 26/30 for most students. I think it truely test your ability of listening. So just try your best to prepare this part, but put all your hope to Structure and Reading. I can understand 80% what they talk in listening test, however, the 4 articles and 2 talks are too long to remeber and some question test too details of their talking. one article talk about water cycling between ocean and reserviors. One student ask professor she can understand what is the meaning of water budget in her notebook. The professor explain it briefly and then ask three different other students what is reserviors. In the end the professor address the meaning of water budget detail in water cycling. Another article is talk about S. aurea one kind of bacteria can cause serious disease after infect people, but healthy people also have this bacteria in their skin. Penicillin could kill this bacteria tens years ago, but increasing resistent bacteria drive scientist find the other two stategies to overcome it. One use new antibiotic vancomycin and another use several antibiotics together to treat infection. The third article are about economic cycle-depression and prosperity and examples are economic status in 1884 and 1930. The last article I remember is talk about quilt in USA in the late of 19 century. Two long talks I can remember clearly, one is talking about the domitory of fresh university student is too crowded and another is about course selection.

Structure: almost the same with PBT. You need have the same speed to do it as PBT.

Reading: the difficulty, sentence structure and words used in articles is similar to PBT 2000-2003 except that the articles are 30% longer than that of PBT. Some questions ask how to address certain questions or orgnize their disussion in one of paragraphs like test in GRE. One word is harder "relinquish=abadon", another word "capitalize on = take advantage of" I read somewhere in Dec. Jijing. Reading is easy for me. I try to comprehesive the "every" sentence and word in 5 articles due to enough time, even like this I still finished it 20 minutes earlier. Consequently, I award 30/30.

Writing: wether pay attention on famous people opinions or not.

Last, I strongly believe by now they still use Dec. database.

In summary, preparing test is laborious work. It is nessesary to gain some backgroud knowledge about society, economic, art, science such as biology and physic. I believe all of these are taught in high school of USA. I guess it is helpful to read some textbooks like these.
