offer 1: UF, some tuituion + GA,  can cover all my tuition and fees

offer 2: Tulane, all tuituion waiver. (The tuition is so high-_-)

admission 3: Purdue, no scholarship. ( I hate purdue. I just want to get half tuition waiver. Why a public school require tuition up to 32000 per year?)

Consideration:

1. Ok, I can afford the cost of purdue. but that also means I will have nothing after graduation. But  My concentration is finance. Purdue is not strong in it and I donot know whether it worth so much.

2. I heard that Tulane is strong in finance. but it is only around 45th in overall ranking and its location is not good. Although the school is famous in Louisana, a poor state, Finding job after graduation needs luck.

3. UF, a good place to live. I heard finding job in  florida is somewhat easy in USA. and the finance of UF is also strong, maybe.

4. I communicated with many current students in all three schools. They said:

UF: finding job in usa depends on yourself. someone in one year MBA program got four offers now.But as a whole, it is difficult for us. UF MBA is small-size and so will affect the job hunting. No data about the previous student's job placement.

Tulane: the prestige school in south. energy finance is strong. There is only one Chinese each graduating in 2007 and 2008. The 2007 girl came to TXU, a good offer. The 2008 boy interned in a little hedge fund and now work in a local investment firm part-time and have opportunity to get the offer. Good job placement! So somewhat I want to go there. However, just one person each! New orleans is an important port with too  many blacks.......Louisana is one of the poorest states in USA! Moreover, a small size MBA.

Purdue: I like it. ok, I love it if it can give me scholarship. But...... I donot know why Purdue is so miserly this year. Nobody get the scholarship as I know.  ok, we talk about the truth. Top 25 MBA and famous in operation management, not famous in finance. But it has good professors in finance. So if I choose it, I will concentrate in finance and operation management. The job placement also concentrates in these two areas. not big size MBA. a few chinese students, but only one each got USA offers in 2006 and 2007(seems not stronger than Tulane-_-) and others went back. Chinese students  also are difficult to find job in USA. Moreover, the tuition one year is up to 32000!

5. Through the internet (vault), I saw the students' evaluation about the schools.:

Tulane, many appraisals. almost all are praise. top 10 in finance according to the alumni by FT ranking. but few from international students. So few Chinese! So 100% found job in USA ^-^

UF, only 9 students gave their evaluations. no valuable information.

Purdue, many appraisals. almost all are praise. But two or three from international students said it was difficult to find intern and job in USA. I am worried about that! But the ranking of purdue is much higher than Tulane, I do not believe job hunting is harder than Tulane.... Maybe  No others schools compete with Tulane in New orleans?? Ok, it is an advantage of Tulane.

So many considerations! I hate to choose. I donot know how to choose. I just know my target is working in USA, regardless of other things!

Thanks for any suggestions!

When you intend on MBA study, tunition should not be an important factor, I guess? Anyway, good luck. You may make some scorecard with the pros and cons to help the decision.

I think scorecard does not fit this situation. How to evaluate the importance of 60w RMB and the ranking and the opportunity to find the job in USA?  We all never know things after two years. So money for opportunity(maybe have, maybe no). money for ranking.  many things are undecidable, so it is hard to choose.

Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

tell the truth, the major question is we donot know the real situation in these schools! all are heard from others.

thanks, yorkgf.

not know why, I donot like UF......although the finance in UF is ranked 22 by USnews. Maybe because someone told me UF take all who apply.

Do you know any thing about UF?

Certainly purdue..... purdue is not bad at Finance.

Meanwhile, when you graduate, you will face better quality recruiters.

I've read a book of B school from US once, they comment Purdue Krannert very highly. They said the reputation of Krannert is great when they hunt jobs. Also, their after-graduate package is always suprising....

Only my 2 cents.... Anyway, you've chosen your school already. Just follow your instinct. ...
