Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer

People are never too old to learn, and as a result we have a lot of teachers through our life. Some people may say that their parents are the best ones to perform the task. They argue that it is their father and mother who let them know the basic rules and knowledge of the world since they were born. Without doubt our parents play a very important role in our life. However, there is a huge amount of information for everyone of us to learn, and sometimes parents are not good at or not capable of teaching, so virtually  they may not be the best ones to do that.

One of the most common situations is that parents do not know as much information as we need. Take the education of children as an example, they usually have a variety of courses at school, such as mathematics, foreign language, literature and art. When children grow up as time goes by, the task will become even harder. We could not expect that the parents are so erudite to handle the teaching of all of these subjects, especially when they themselves are lack of education. So in most cases, children need other teachers in specific field.  Moreover, not all parents have the common sense of teaching. No matter how excellent they are, it would be hard for their offspring to follow their instructions. For instance, some amateurs are born with an ability of singing, but they may have problem to explain to their children how to control their power or how to practice. At this time a professional teacher is essential to help the parents out.

Another important reason is that there is usually some deficiency of the personal views of parents. Characteristics and habits are easy to be passes from parents to offspring, what if these are poor or even harmful? Imagine that there is a fight between two children, and soon the angry fathers join in to escalate the battle level, we could not see any good influence from their parents on innocent children. Furthermore, it is even dangerous when parents as teachers have moral problems. A parent with criminal behavior will unconsciously impact his child, for example. In that case, children should be protected  let alone instructed by them.

In retrospect, although many parents are trying to set a good example to their children, it is not enough to depend on the two of them only. So it is hard to say that parents are the most suitable characters of the best teacher.
