1. 如果whether和that从句并列,那么补上省略的部分原句为:Corporations will soon be required to report to the government whether they have the necessary reserves to pay the pension benefits earned by their employees and required to report to the government that the information be published...意思变化
这是两个非常经典的gmat的语法考题，比较象机考中的难题应该引起大家的高度关注。 我来说说第一题的解题思路： （1）从并列入手，可以扔掉b/e; （2）这个时候不要犹豫马上开始比较选项，a/c比较，打死你都不会选Ｃ； （3）这时可以比较a/d;a是很好的并列结构，我们必须比较意思。把句子补全:Corporations will soon be required to report to the government whether they have the necessary reserves to pay the pension benefits earned by their employees and required to report to the government that the information be published...形式上是比较并列的，但是从意思上讲没法讲通。the information 有些莫名其妙。最后就选D.
2、我先说解题思路： （1）发现没有动词和并列，但是有单复数问题，扔掉bce. （2）比较a/d,d中的that 指代distinction，不但后面的as dwellings说不同，而且that在定语从句中根本不做任何成分。so,a. 下面我分析一下A: Cooperative apartment houses have the peculiar distinction of being dwellings that must also operate as businesses.
这句让大家看了以后就想扔掉的话是对的。它是两句话的合并。 （1）Cooperative apartment houses have the peculiar distinction 。 （2）Cooperative apartment houses are dwellings that must also operate as businesses. being在这里的作用是使得dwelling这个词更加明确。
