特别是人在北美想转行的, 如何和老板摊牌呀? 冒着被抄的危险? 几乎所有学校say you have to have a letter from your current supervisior.

I guess you can get one from your coworker and explain why not from your boss, but adcom would surel ynotice this and this would be a big disadvantage, if your boss cannot support you, what does it mean?

除了直接上司更了解你的工作能力之外，让直接上司写推荐信有几点隐形的好处：

1. 你真的是个人才以致你的上司如此珍惜你的前程和发展机会，即使你想离开他也原意帮你实现梦想。

2. 你具有很好的社交能力，可以“与虎谋皮”，从上司手里拿到一封几乎是注定要让自己的得力爱将离开的推荐信。

3. 你有很好的判断力和交友选择能力，以至于你选择的公司和公司里的上司是开明的，愿意做一件很多人都在做的事情。

所以，直接上司的推荐信真的比较重要哦。
