答案是D。 我选了B。因为句子后面没划线部分有its，所以我认为应该用单数。尽管due to being看起来很别扭。请高人指教：）

正确答案是D 啊，读起来都通顺很多。

1.LZ这样分析问题的方式不对。如果句划线部分用的its是因为它是与species一致的，species种族这个词是单复数同形的，而且句中只指ant这一种族，因此在“ this species in its native Argentina”里用its是没问题的。而前面的句子至于用什么单复数要根据前面的句意来决定。

2.B项感觉读起来就很不顺，而且“  Due to its being so genetically similar ”好像都没写完句子就断了，一般用similar都是用于“ A be similar to B"。而且，此选项中“considers all its fellows to be a close relative ”也存在一致性错误，“all its fellows"是复数，“a close relative ”单数。
