搜索了一把，有前人讨论帖子，但是问题没有解决

从webster看，citrus是可以为单也可以作为复数形式的

那么这个题目ETS解释中，死活强调citrus是单数，选择E

有没有牛牛给出比较好的解答呢

我语法基础不好,不敢搬大道理.但是我认为做题可以迂回,不要认死理.做题目时候,我是这么想的:

根据单复数原则和搭配原则,BCD首先出局.剩下AE;
仔细看AE的区别,好象都可以,一时不知道怎么办,我于是根据GMAT最优答案的原则,注意不是最正确的答案,E的后半句比A要更能体现一个因果关系,天气热了,桔子坏了.我觉得更好.我虽然说不出A有什么致命的错误(记住我做题的时候也不清楚CITRUS是不是复数),但是E更好.所以选E.

瞎说了一通不知道有没有帮到你.

现在这样想想，A是有点wordy或者不清晰的毛病的

那个从句套从句，明显没有E的那个从句舒服

根据这个帖子的讨论，before/after ... when这样的时间状语连用在ETS看来是错误的。

2、根据上一楼对ETS解释的引用，看本题，“The only way for growers to slavage frozen citrus"中，对growers和frozen citrus都是泛指，没有特定指哪些grower和哪一些citrus，在这样的情况下，似乎把citrus理解成为“citrus”这个水果品种比较好，在这样的理解下citrus应该是不可数名词。

说明：这个理解是我自己演绎的，需要NN指正

我还有一个问题,这题E答案的fruit 能否改为it, 是否产生歧义.而且个人认为it更合适一些,请nn指教

原则上面不要去改选项.

E中前面已经有了一个it去指代cirtus, 按照同一句话里面同种所有格代词指代相同的原则, 应该不会有歧义.
