B正确应该无异议了。问另外一个问题，

Although  people in France and the United States consume fatty foods at about the same rate,  the death rates from heart disease are far lower in France.

这句话的后半句是不是如下才对呢：

the death rate in France is far lower than that in US.

觉得the death rates ....are ...前面是复数，后面跟的却是一个国家，有点怪怪的感觉？

会不会逻辑错误呢？在法国，两国（因为是复数）源于心脏病的死亡率都很低。感觉逻辑不对？

觉得the death rates ....are ...是复数，后面跟的却是一个国家，有点怪怪的感觉？会不会逻辑错误呢？

在法国，两国（因为是复数）源于心脏病的死亡率都很低。感觉逻辑不对？

楼主误会了， 后面的the death rates 是指在 France的 death rates. 说一个国家的死亡率是可以用复数的。
