看了之前的讨论，关于此题的很多疑点一直没有一个很好的解释，再次总结提出一下。

1。（A）为什么用过去时had feared？

2。（B）的解释说what cannot replace that, what可以翻成the thing that, 这里不是挺好吗?

3。 OG解释说rather to come/instead to come does not complete the second part of the sentence idiomatically，什么意思呢？

其实，这题说容易也容易，可以根据come和avoid的平行来排除B/C/D/E，不过以上几点实在是想不通啊，望NN们来解释一下，谢谢。

又研究了一下NN们的贴子，现在Q1和Q3解决了，Q2仍然不太明白=.=

同时又冒出来一个新问题

OG对D的解释中说recession must be followed by that, 和很多人一样觉得这个that在定语从句中做宾语，应该可以省略的丫
