Topic: It has been said, "Not everything that is learned is contained in books." Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?
            

Although books and experiences are two main sources of knowledge in human society, knowledge obtained from books is more significant than the one obtained from experience with no doubt. Moreover, this trend will continue in a long term.

Even a child knows that books are the sources of knowledge. Either in the study process in primary school, high school, and university or in the working period in company or research institution, we gain diverse kinds of knowledge by reading book, because books contain nearly all things in the fields human reached, such as science, literature, arts, engineering, history etc. For example, the excellent content of books may be an anecdote, the whole history of Rome, or even the introduction to the original of black hole. The extraordinary people in history, who are often seem to have unique and diverse experiences, are usually "fans" of books: the founder and first leader of People's republic of China, Zedong Mao, is a good instance of people who like books. Wherever he went, he always took a book so he can waste little time. Even in a particular battle field against Japanese Army, the historical record show President Mao bring the "Shun zi bing fa", one of the famous ancient Chinese books.

With the rapidly development of Information Technology, the new media, instead of traditional paper-base media, is gradually become the main media in society. But from my perspective, the importance of books is not reduced by new media at all, but enhanced by it, because the application of new media like e-books are also the books in a different medium. In the past, many factors limit the value of books such as boring content and difficulty in portable and transfer. But currently E-books solve all of those limitations. If you can only buy a expensive book to view the boring theory of black hole in the past, now you can watch the vivid video and view other comments to make clear how does the black hole establishes by downloading a e-books from Internet, which is free and only cost a few minutes. Therefore it is safely to conclude that the significance and range of books are expanded more and more.

Admittedly, experiences have important influence on people's development and life that we cannot ignore. However, the benefit of experiences is a kind of abstract influence and applied skills rather than the systemic knowledge like method and theory.

As far as I am concerned, people should read books in related field to gain the necessary information and methods. And Entertainment or relax is also a good reason for people to read. In a word, books are the primary resource of knowledge that cannot be replaced of.

From my perspective, I, a student in college, strongly favor that knowledge in books is more crucial.)
