B. and its superiority to the horse had been proved

C. and its superiority to the horse

这个题不是很理解，选项B 是正确答案但是在选项C 里不可以把its看成前面的 the economy and social usefulness吗？那样的话就省略掉前面的BE 动词，这样做为什么不可以呢？很是不理解，请大家帮忙。

(B)不是反倒有tense problem嗎

C中的and前后没有办法并列呀，一个是完整的一句话，一个是名词，没有办法并列，逻辑含义也不对。

况且 the economy and social usefulness就算被指代也应该是their

B的时态正确，因为后面动作实在was demonstrated之前发生的，过去的过去。
