D.   year toward the cost of higher education, instead of the $7 per year required previously
E.   year as opposed to the $7 per year required previously for the cost of higher education
请问A和B为什么了错了。答案是D。我觉得B中which指代的是higher education，在定语从句中做主语，只不过是被动形式。

B中的主语不是higher education吗？我是这样理解的higher education was previously paid for $7 per year。

介宾，介词+宾语。
for 是介词后面的必然是宾语。
for which这里是 for higher education,还原后是was previously paid $7 per year for higher education，没有主语

我分析的没那么清楚,但是介词+名词这种介词短语结构里的名词是糟糕的先行词,所以可以用来选优
