这题答案选A，做的时候有一点疑惑的是：按照题干的理解 while at the same time supporting.....就与saying government is doing too much and has become too powerful 并列，他们同时做they denounce big government的伴随状语。但是从逻辑上来说，我觉得最好是suppor 和 denouce并列,这样正好就回应了主句的 hold a combination of conservative and liberal political views，就像选项C的结构，这样逻辑上会不会更合理一些呢？

while 并不是并列连词，而且while-clause 与 saying...之间有comma, 所以不会引起与saying 并列的歧义。

while doing...是当主从句的主语一致，而且while从句的谓语是be的时候，可以省略主谓，用while doing.

C 的两个they... 句子之间没有连词，产生了run-on sentence.
