各位大神好，
做题时遇到从句中有“he,she,it"等指代主语，经常纠结是否有必要省略这个代词。不省略往往说”wordy"、“指代不清”, 省略了又说该代词不可或缺，甚是烦恼，还请大神们帮忙讲解。
按个人理解，从句中的代词如果是指代主语，一般是予以省略的，例如：
John likes learning English, but he hates playing games. (he一般是省略的吧)
John likes learning English, but hates playing games. (这样更通顺吧)
通常说John does A, and does B.
不会说John does A, and he does B.
案例1：
The hognose snake puts on an impressive bluff, hissing and rearing back, broadens the flesh behind its head the way a cobra does, feigning repeated strikes, but, having no dangerous fangs and no venom, eventually, if its pursuer is not cowed by the performance, will fall over and play dead.
(A) broadens the flesh behind its head the way a cobra does, feigning repeated strikes, but, having no dangerous fangs and no venom,

OA是C，当时我排除了C ，原因是我认为"it"指"hognose snake",应该是"the hognose snake puts on blah..., but has no dangerous fangs, and eventually blah"...
案例2：
In some species of cricket, the number of chirps per minute used by the male for attracting females rise and fall in accordance with the surrounding temperature, and they can in fact serve as an approximate thermometer.
A. for attracting females rise and fall in accordance with the surrounding temperature, and they can in fact serve.

OA是D，当时我排除了D，原因是我认为"it"指"the number"，应该是"the number rises and falls blah..., and can in fact serve.

这三个例子是，主语代词不省略。
案例4:
After several years of rapid growth, the health care company became one of the largest health care providers in the metropolitan area, while it then proved unable to handle the increase in business, falling months behind in its payment to doctors and hospitals.

OA是E，好家伙这次省略了，"the company became blah..., but (it) then proved unable to blah..."
anyway, 经常被这个代词困扰，请大神支招：
1) 这个代词能否省略
2) 这个代词什么时候省略是对的，什么时候省略是错的
目前还没人指点，只能初步总结为：
1) "I do A, and/but do B" 和 "I do A, and/but I do B" 均可
2) 在没有其它错误的情况下，省略主语代词可避免wordy
