这里A为什么不对？a spinning figure skater whose speed increases when her arms are drawn in是带定语从句修饰的名词短语啊，复合like后面必须加名词的用法！而且逻辑上似乎与主句的比较更一致，因为：

主句说：the builup of ice and the drop...speed up the Earth's rotation. (即原因导致了结果)
A选项：当her arms are drawn in increases speed (同上)
E选项：通过drawing in her arms increases speed. (为了目的而采取行动，而主句的原因只能是自然发生，而不能被人为来要求发生)

Like A, B do. 结构是比较名词；(Just) as A do, B do 是比较动作。谢谢！

"(Just) as A do, B do " is wrong, you have to say " (just) as A do, so B do".You can say " B do, (just) as A do".

And the as clause is not for comparison, it is a so called "adverbial clause of manner".

B, like A, do...

却没有看到过：B do, like A...

另外，如果最后一种情形出现时，再找到里面有动词/动名词，有很大的嫌疑会是as，表示动作相似性（或整个句子）的比较

刚刚总结到关于AS作为连词时的用法如下：

2. Just as A do, so too + 部分倒装
