我自己思考了两天，来说一下。

第一题：

我理解的应该有偏差，which非限制性定于从句限定的应该是affairs，所以排除was选项，另外，outgrowth应该是affairs的增长，因此要用outgrowths，而不是单数。

这样理解不知道是否正确：）

第二题，我好像也明白了：）不知道我的理解是否有问题，希望大家指正。

分析句子结构：the books of 。。。。后面一大串都是books的修饰成分,as ....as固定搭配，比较的内容是同类，后面的would是整个句子真正的谓语动词。would 比would be  true of更简洁，所以选择d
