我也选b,仔细想想后发现 这句话是转折的意思,可以理解为Although he professed disdain of such activities (gossip), Auden was an inveterate literary gossip. 尽管他对gossip持有鄙视态度,Auden还是gossip高手。这里就是for all是固定用法,相当于despiteinspite of

 

Having professed用现在分词完成式,表示profess disdain的时间在主句谓语之前,而这里professed distain auden的一个状态,
                                
所以B错。
