Our society abounds numerous examples that group leaders always have great achievements during their career. There is a general debate nowadays on which is better, a member of a group or the leader of it. Some people believe that it is better to be a member of a group, for less pressure and more freedom. Indeed, there may be some disadvantages as to be a leader, however, I believe that there are far more advantages.

First of all, some minor disadvantages to be a leader of a group include more work and less freedom to enjoy your life. Foe instance, a leader may need to deal with his projects on Sunday while other staffs are having their weekends. He may used to at his office more than 12 hour per day. Lack of rest often leads to more pressure and stress. And sometimes it is not good for one’s health.

Even though there may be one or two disadvantages to be a leader of a group, the advantages far outweigh them. By doing more work, a leader acquires a great deal of knowledge from them as well as experiences. He will know how to control the sudden situation that, for example, the group encounters a financial problem and in need of a quick decision. A leader can make out an appropriate immediately solution as a result of his rich knowledge and experiences.

Another benefit to be a leader of a group is that as in a team, the leader should be charged with more responsibility than others. How to assign tasks and balance all the members’ profits improve the leader’s cooperation ability. A leader should know the traits of everyone in the group and give the right tasks to the right person. Nothing can be more important than that the leader himself is the largest beneficiary as in communicating with others or in other fields. The more frequently members communicate with each others, the more harmonious the relationship in the group between them is.

Although I agree with that there may be a couple of disadvantages to be a leader of a group, I feel that the advantages are more obvious. As a leader, one can gain much more knowledge and experiences than other members. In addition, the responsibility and cooperation ability will be certainly improved. From my point of view, people should try their best to pursuit as a leader of a group, to broaden our horizons and develop our leadership.
