I understand your concerns. In fact, doing research has more freedom than work. I like to do what I really like. Academic world is very big. I have four projects at hand. If I feel bored with one, I can do another..........or I can explore new topics. This new exploration is more exciting than switching cities, in my opinions. Of course, not all phd students and professors can feel this freedom, some of them view research as an instrumental tool for living. Phd mainly focuses on mental switching. As for geographical switching, normally not very high, unless you are really big names and many universities ask you to join. As for marriage, ha! Even though you work in China, you are not sure whether you can find an ideal partner. The opportunity of finding a partner depends on your attraction. If you are good enough, you can find an ideal one without any problem. If not,......try to modify yourself. It is not so meaningful for you to get another master. In addition, phd is more difficult to apply. For business graduates, on average, at least US80,000 per each. However, the salary may depends on your publications. Some private universities allow applicants to negotiate salary. GMAT710 is enough. Try to read academic papers to explore your interests. Good luck to your career and marriage! |
