At ground level, ozone iss a harmful pollutant, but (in the stratosphere) it shields the Earth from the most biologically harmful radiation emitted by the Sun. radiation in the ultraviolet band of the spectrum.----括号内为划线部分，不知道题目是不是错了，句号的位置怪怪的

A. the same
B. in the stratosphere, in which
C. it is in the stratosphere, which
D. in the stratosphere where
E. it is in the stratosphere and

答案是A，有谁能解释下为什么不是D？
还有where 和 in which 的区别在哪里？什么句子里用where 什么地方用in which？

句子结构吧...where引导了定语从句,后面整个都是从句部分,but之后的部分变成了状语(+定语从句),emitted by是分词后置修饰radiation.

如果选D的话，句子缺少谓语了吧。
