When it comes to why people attend college or university, ideas differ from person to person. Some people want to get new experiences, others may be for the purpose of career preparation. Among the countless factors that influence the choice, there are three conspicuous aspects as follow.

As far as I am concerned, the first and the commonest reason is that we want to receive high payment after we graduate from school. As is known to all, people with high education backdrops always get higher wage than those who without. For instance, a person who has medical master degree may be given more than five thousand yuan per month, by working as a doctor, while as people graduated from high school without special crafter, the wages are usually only five hundred yuan per month, even less. In order to become more competive in the morden age, people have no choice, but to get more prepared in higher education.

Although receiving high payment is the commonest determinant, it is not the only explanation for entering college. The increased value placed on the idea of self-realization also helps to explain this phenomenon. Compared to the people who spend most of their time on concerning about basic supplements, such as food, clothes, in the past, nowadays, people pay more attention to their living qualities. They want to be more successful in their own religions. So they have to have more knowledge in their fields. And the most convinient approach to get these knowledges is to go to college or university.

Undoubtedly, payment and self-fulfillment support the reason why people choose to get a further education after graduate from high school, but making friends is also an crucial reason. Students in college can meet a myriad of person, including classmates, teachers, professors and so on, who usually have the similar properties. Obviously, people who have the common interest make friends with each other much easilier. And these friends may play an integral part of one’s later life.

There may be other reasons which are various from person to person. However, commonly speaking, most people join in the groups of college for one or more reasons mationed above. Briefly speaking, we now can draw the conclusion that high payment, self realization and making friends are three main contributors to make people to go to colleage and university.
