[求助]新东方兰本子上关于平行结构一题

划线在and之后

选项：d  causing flames to spread

           e causing spreading of the fire

请教一下，为什么e不对呢？causing sth不对？新东方不是还说过除了特定搭配 A of B 优于B to A么？

是不是动词搭配的问题，cause sth to do, 而不是cause sth of sth，好像没见过这种结构啊。

不知道这么说对不对，请nn指正。

不知道横线划到哪里？是不是划到more之前，如果是，那quickly就应该修饰spread了。

我觉得楼上说得两点都对，尤其more quickly修饰spread
