the admissions committee will meet this Friday, next Tuesday, and next Friday. and decisions for the first round reviewing will be made on the meeting to be held next Friday. applicants to be accepted in the first round will be noticed by e-mail on the mornign of next Saturday (Beijing time)

the phd in labor and industrial relations program @ MSU

faculties will meet in mid January, and decisions will be made in early Feb or mid Feb. however, a preliminary offer has already been made to an Albanian student who is now a Grad student @ US with 4.0 GPA plus 3 W/E in a national bank

the phd in human resources program @ South Carolina

the decision is on a rolling basis, which means the admissions committee will meet in mid January and first round offer will be made in early Feb or even late January.

the phd in labor relations & human resources program @ UIUC

there will be NO rolling basis for application materials reviewing. no need to hurry.

I am curious about how you know these inside information?

The deadline of Temple University is Dec. 15th, this Friday, so I am wondering if the admission comittee will start reviewing the application so early.

the professors @ my dpt. recommend 4 MA & MBA students who apply to the institutes mentioned above. and these professors have very close connection, eg.research project, with professors in those univs. they got the news this morning from Temple. for other univs, these are old pieces of news.

the most important thing is that her background is very very excellent. although her GRE is only 1250, it doesn't matter 'cause a lot of foreign students have very low GT scores. btw, her awa is 5.5. she has completed two projects with the help of our dpt professors; one is for Washington Mutual while the other is for Shell.

i personlly consider her on-campus interview as a enhancement rather than a critical factor. she speaks very fluent English (even without accent 'cause she took her undergrad in a english-speaking univ which is sponsored by American financial groups and whose faculty positions are filled with Americans). she has reasonable research plan. and most importantly, one of the MSU faculties will initiate a research project to which her research interest and background will greatly match.

the project with Washington Mutual is totally a group consuliting project which had been carried by three professors from my dpt, University of Pittsburgh, and Georgia State University. she is not the only grad student getting involved in the project whose success, if I remember correctly, shall be partially attributed to 5 grad students. but she is the one who exclusively drafted the 3rd edition of the counter-proposal given by a famous consulting corp, the strategic partner to which Washington Mutual has been outsourcing its organizational development strategy, and the only student of these five, whose presence had been made to Washington Mutual HQ as a main partner of this project.

the other one had been done before i came here. i knew little about it. but i am sure it is not for the purpose of publication.
