PREP作的我抓狂，很多以前认为正确的东西在这里都不管用，例如这个题，按照原来的思路，要看前后时态的对应，正确答案D用了had appeared，与前后的现在时态完全不搭界，并且没有任何的时间状语指示，怎么能随便换时态呢？！

抓狂了，请高手指教

试着分析一下，用had是因为appear这个动作是在have now realized之前发生的，翻译一下就是在我们意识到小c会消耗臭氧层之前，它看起来是不受人类影响的，翻的不好，大概就是人们原来觉得人类活动是不会影响到臭氧层的，后来发现原来还是会影响的。

我一开始也选的是has，看来还是要考虑句子的整体结构。

而且我选的还是带that的那个，现在看来appear在这里的意思是give impression，used to say that someone or something seems to have a particular quality or feeling:，所以后面可以直接跟immune，考试都是这样的题目就死了：（

c中enhance preparation不太对吧，只能enhance preparation的level之类的吧，另外prepare有一个意思是make sb. ready：to provide someone with the training, skills, experience etc that they will need to do a job or to deal with a situation，所以E用preparing 也没什么不妥的，而且them根据就近和逻辑清晰原则也只能指代athletes
