前边我说的都是放P，现在好好说

(C) laid in the fact of his proposing the idea

这里第二个分句里用的动词是lie, 而不是lay
lie 表示展现，lay 表示放置
所以在一般现在时里，我们通常都说“lie in the fact", 而不是用lay
可是第一个分句里用的是一般过去时，所以第二个分句就要用lie的过去形式--lay
仔细看看lie 和 lay的区别就很明显了
