17题，我怎么觉着C和D都不对呢？tails有两种：（1）in the direction away from the sun(但是这种是less common kind)（2）get pushed back by the sunlight.
但是D却说always point in the direction away from the Sun啊？这个always就不对，而且只是说了第一种啊？？
到底D对不对呢？？

你的题是否印错了？这题是问 EXCEPT ! 所以选C。

是except题啊？
但是我觉着D也不对。因为always不对啊！！direction away from the sun 应该是less common kind而不应该是always的。

文中提到tails时，有说过often...；但你说的两种分类，主要是电荷方面的区别，并没有再明确说方向的问题，所以D虽然有always，但并不与文中信息矛盾。而C则错的比较明显。
我个人感觉选项的迷惑性很多就来自于这种细微的差异，也是很接近G的地方：只要文中没有明确的肯定信息，就尽量避免主观上先选为答案；而没有与文中明显矛盾的信息，也要避免马上就排除。

第一段中确实提到了tails often steaming from it in the direction away form the Sun,但是这个tails是coma的啊？而题目中问的是tails of comets.我想这两种是不一样的吧？因为在最后一段中说到了comets和coma的关系。first the coma grows, then two distinct tails usuallly form.真不晓得他们到底是不是一回事呢。搞不懂....

我的答案给的是A. chemical structure of the pheromone is changed.
我的定位在这里：but some pheromones may convey different meanings and consequently result in different behavioral or physiological responses,depending on their concentration or when presented in combination.但是concentration and combination怎么是chemical structure 的变化呢？

linlin, 真佩服你的认真钻研。
你是对的，从严格意义上讲，A 选项一定是GMAT题目中的迷惑选项，因为从concentration and combination 不一定就能推出chemical structure 的变化。
这里有逻辑问题。但A还是最好选项.
算了吧，TOEFL的有些出题人毕竟也是中学老师，逻辑也不怎么样。做GMAT也牛不起来的。
