作者只贴出了三个选项。那么就这三个来讨论一下吧。

    C so that as much as up to one third of wood  purchased .......

    D with the result that as much as one third of wood purchased.......

    E with the result that as much as one third of wood they purchased…

个人觉得就这三个里，D比较好。

因为C的as much as 和up to 意思不妥。

而E的they相对D选项来说wordy,并且有指代不清的可能。
