如果E改成你说的那样，含义是对的，也是说发生了两个地震，所以应该和D一样正确。但是应该D更好，因为in the estern US比that occurs in the the eastern US要简洁呀。

2. 一个地震在东部震过了, 又跑到西部去震? 这太离奇.

3. 如果按楼上所说, “一个地震，如果发生在东部和如果发生在西部” 这不是原文的意思是. 原文要比较的是同样震级的地震(而不是同一个地震)在不同地方的影响.
