看白勇语法书后的疑惑

白勇语法书上说，两个句子或三个句子并列时，第一句中有be动词，第二句或第三句的be动词必须省略。　可是 once the economic and social usefulness of the motor car was demonostrated and its superiority over the horse proved,.......... 这句中后半句的be 为什么不能省？省掉就算and连接一个句和一个短语，错？这个两个句子不算并列吗？　望牛人指点。

once the economic and social usefulness of the motor car was demonostrated and its superiority over the horse proved

这里省略了be有错误，proved可以是分词，也可以是动词,..........

介于你后面用得是逗号

则，前面得and的连接就比较微妙

如省略be ，proved做动词没宾语，

如果做分词修饰，则and前的was demonostrated 和分词proved不平行

一定要was proved

另外and前后主语不一致，一定是两个完整的句子，the usefulness of the motor was demonostrated and its superiority was proved这样才平行
