模考软件中的一道题

There are hopeful signs that we are shifting away from our heavy reliance on fossil fuels: more than ten times as much as energy is generated through wind power now than it was in 1990.

为什么是选Ｃ啊？不懂耶！！请赐教．

题目更正:energy前的as没有的，实在不好意思哦

问rosmarine提出的it指代不清，指的是energy还是energy was generated by wind power这件事？

可是ＩＴ不是不可以指代句子的吗？

energy前的as没有的，改为：

There are hopeful signs that we are shifting away from our heavy reliance on fossil fuels: more than ten times as much energy is generated through wind power now than it was in 1990.

(A) generated through wind power now than it was in 1990.

明显的：数字+times + as energy。。。as结构，than就多了，前面有个more than了

(B)generated through wind power now as it was in 1990.

我觉的问题不仅仅是it还出在was上，使用was，it就可能指代energy，强调了generated这个动作，就是it was 在as。。。as结构中就与 is generated这个动作并列比较了。有两个问题：1.不平行：was和is generated不平行，起码是was generated和is generated平行。2.意思不对：使用了was后，it就可能指代energy，强调了generated这个动作，意思就成为“现在用风力发电（一个动作）十倍与过去的风力发电（一个动作）”不正确，起码是“现在用风力发电（分词做定语）的电量（the amount of）ten times as many as 1990年的量这样的比较是平行的。所以it是在使用了was之后有歧异。并且意思不对。

(C)generated through wind power now as was the case in 1990.

as was the case 记住就好啦

(D)now generated through wind power as it was in 1990.

now和in 1990位置不一样，前这强调now，后者强调it was。也就是as。。。as不平行。强调的部分不一样，所以不好

(E)now generated through wind power as  was the case in 1990.

十分同意楼上的解释.

我也碰到这到题目了,做错了,做得时候不够细致.

回头来一看..这个it was..有很重的歧义痕迹...这是GMAT常用的花招啊...

又被骗了...

这里It肯定错, it is used to refer to the exact same thing. the energy produced years ago is different from the energy produced now. so  choices a b and d is wrong

C is better than E, because C clearly compares the amounts  of two distinct periods since "now" is the nearest words to "as was...", while E seems to compare the degrees of "through wind power".
