A company's two divisions performed with remarkable consistency over the past three years: in each of those years, the pharmaceuticals division has accounted for roughly 20 percent of dollar sales and 40 percent of profits, and the chemical division for the balance.

It was a CR question. I made a good guess and figured out the answer but I still don't understand the last part of the sentence, "and the chemical division for the balance."

"balance" means "remainder".
