怎么答案是D呢? GMAT中不是不能出现be to do 结构的吗?

那你觉得应该选什么呢？

这句话subject是essays，因此谓语动词必须复数，因此前三项错，这里的were to do是虚拟结构为什么不可以使用？e肯定错啊，排除都可以排除的出来
