这题做的时候，就在C和E之间犹豫。

C的不好之处：

（1）    techniques后面的used to觉得有些wordy.

（2）    They其实有些指代不清。如果将c的后半部分改为句子，应该是：techniques are used to genetically enhance plants so that they are…., they 应该优先指代主语techniques而不是plants。

E的不好之处：

（1）    that的指代对象歧义（可能是techniques 或 plants）

（2）    them的指代不清。

我对E的理解：

（1）    the same…….as(that)更简洁且符合惯用法。

（2）    techniques for 是简洁的惯用法。

我对E的不足之处的理解：

（1）    既然有the same的修饰，则that自然应该指代其修饰对象techniques。

（2）    如果(1)成立，则前面只有两个复数，则them应该指代plants。否则，应该用themselves.

1。EMPLOYING  和 USED TO 并不WORDY。原句意思：研究者应用同样的技术（这些技术与被用来提高植物的基因性 的技术是相同的）USED TO 过去分词做后置定语。

2。SO THAT 并不要求与主句主语一致。

但是Employing the same techniques used to genetically enhance plants 中的used不显得有点多余吗？（假如 techniques 用法允许，直接接不定式岂不更好，而且used是过去分词，毕竟有过去和被动的意思。而 techniques for 是简洁的惯用法），

可能我还是没有解释清楚：

其实：这里你可一把USED TO 理解成过去和动作完成的含义：研究者现在应用的技术就是就以前用来提高植物基因性的技术，现在应用这些技术来提高蛋白质的含量。
