正确答案选择B 但有点疑惑该怎么排除D选项

Manhattan中说so that的正确用法是用来表purpose：这里的 the companies seem larger的确是purpose；

OG官方解释：clauses begining so that can express purpose,but do not fit with ways in the manner required here:to or of is needed after ways
(???这个解释我更懵逼了

在国外的beat论坛看到的一个老师的解释：
(D) new entrepreneurs may need to find resourceful ways so that the companies seem larger
This option is also INCORRECT because the phrase "so that" doesn't work here. "So that" is meant to show that one person does an action so that another person can do/no do something as a result. Since a company is not a person, it doesn't make sense to use it here. Saying "to" is much clearer and shows a direct purpose.

New entrepreneurs may need to find resourceful ways that make their company seem large and more firmly established than they may actually be
这样就容易识别多了。

选项分析：

A选项：第一，their的指代对象是new entrepreneurs ，这些新企业家肯定是每个人拥有一个公司，而不是共有一个公司，因此，company应改为companies。
第二，本选项是一个定语从句，但这个定语从句应该改为不定式。究竟选择不定式还是从句是GMAT经常考查的考点。参考“不定式和名词的区别”。用之于本题，主句说已经需要去发现方法了，而方法的目的是让公司变得更大。因此，“发现方法”这个事件对“让公司变大”这个方法的目的事件有直接的影响，需要用不定式短语。

能用不定式表示目的，为什么非要啰嗦地用个目的状语从句

跟简洁性没关系吧，就是句义上不是“目的”的意思。
