选项AB中 , prevented from...修饰谁？是就近修饰distances? 还是修饰 sound ?

本菜鸡来回答一下，prevented from...理论上应该修饰前面那一整句，然而你看后面boundaries in the ocean...

根据逻辑来说prevented的应该是后面部分而不是前面或者sound，所以我会先把ABE排除

CD对比，as a result of boundaries in the ocean...意义不明

语义上来说，如果prevent from修饰声音的话，意思是声音被阻止自己的能量被消耗，似乎声音是个人有意识有intention，主动消耗自己的能量，这是很奇怪也是说不通的，因为消耗不是声音主动做而是各种客观事情发生在它身上。所以我们可以排除其他选项，只剩C和D。
如果还不能理解的话，我们假设prevent的主语是zeus。这就变成Zeus prevents sound from dissipating its energy. 这里很明显看出来问题了。

C明显stylistically better。P.S. prevented from修饰的是energy
