最好能给我点例子，我觉得it和they不能指代整句，that是可以的，但不确定呢，谢谢

在gmat语法里，it，they，this，that，these，those都不可以指代整个句子，这是典型的gmat语法错误。当然在非gmat的日常口语中that可以指代整个句子的。另外，it有个特殊的用法，就是形式主语或者形式宾语，但即使这样也不会指代整个句子，例如：

It took Tom three days to complete the task. (这里it作形式主语指代to complete the task)

that/those 都是不能指代整句的，只指代名词。而且这四个词与it/they/them/its的使用时候的区别就是，指代先行词时只是表达copy并不是same.
例如The money spent by her parents is less than that spent by her children.
that指的是money，但是这个money和前面的又不同，是被孩子们花掉的钱而不是被父母。
