Attempting to refute/demonstrate the viewpoint that , the author quoted a survey that /pointed out that .... . Based upon this evidence, he reasons that ..... . We could restate the author's argument as: because AA, then BB, and CC therefore DD. We may find out that at the first glance his reasoning seems to be somewhat plausible, but only at the first glance.
The most critical logical flaw in the argument is that the author made the false equation/assumption of . .................. Therefore, it is illogical to conclude that .........
Futhermore, that just because B can be statistically correlated with A does not necessarily mean that A is the cause of B. In fact, chances are that the author has neglected the possibility of other alternative facts such as….
Additionally, the author did not make it clear that whether ....... . This obscurity makes the author's argument even more unrepresentative/unconvincible.
Last but no least, the validity of the survey on which the argument relies is also doubtful The argument does not indicate who conducted this survey and when and how the survey is conducted, neither does it mention what is the sample size, or how the sample s are selected. Until these questions are answered the results of this survey are worthless as evidence to support that….
In conclusion, the evidence provided by the author is too vague/uninformative to support the author's claim, and the argument's line of reasoning is serious flawed. To strengthen the argument, the author should provide a more convincing and relevant evidence that clearly expresses/indicates/represents ......, and rule out all the above possibilities.
