这道提选C。楼主知道为什么A/B/D/E 是错的，但是看不懂C这个正确选项
正确句子应该是： Though called a sea, the landlocked Caspian is actually the largest lake on Earth, covering more than four times the surface area of its closest rival in size, North America’s Lake Superior. 这里的though 应该是一个conjunction 连接两个句子，但是Though called a sea不是一个句子啊？楼主认为called 在这里应该是过去分词。求解！！！

我也觉得though是连词应该连接两个完整的句子
虽然这道题用排除法只能选这个了
可能这就是传说中的“选最优”吧

这道题里Although/Though引导的让步状从省略了主语和谓语。

Though [the landlocked Caspian/it is] called a sea, the landlocked Caspian is actually the largest lake on Earth, covering...

当从句满足以下两个条件时，从句的主语和谓语可以被省略：

1. 从句主语和主句主语一致

2. 从句谓语动词为系动词

这种情况其实很常见，不只是Although，很多引导从句的连词都可以这样用，关键是看把主语和谓语补充进去之后，句子逻辑仍然是正确的。
