省略主谓，这个形式在其他英语里也很常见呀。

另外although后面不加介词短语，名词，只加句子，

but，就像and连词一样，主谓相同可以省略的。

没错，although就像是and一样，连词，省略主谓，也可以看成并列。

之所以能这样省，还是因为他是系表结构，换成动宾结构就要动词ing或ed了

主语一样可以省略，补全是：Although (Polio have been) eradicated in the United States, polio continues elsewhere and could be brought into the country by visitors.
