求助一道OG里关于OF平行用法的题目

Ryūnosuke  Akutagawa’s knowledge of the literatures of Europe, China, and that of Japan were instrumental in his development as a writer,  informing his literary style as much as the  content of his fiction.

题目如上，应当选择C；但是我对于of有疑问；
题目中l literatures of Europe, China, and that of Japan为什么不对呢？
在Japan这里，that of Japan 不是literature of  Japan吗？因为有一个and分割开所以为了平行就that of啊。。为什么不能这么想呢?

是literatures of （Europe, China, and Japan）
三樣東西平行是 A, B, and C
A.B.C三樣東西要平行
所以不必多that of
