Pioneered by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory, BEAM robots are not programmed to

walk; instead they use brainlike circuits called neural networks to learn to walk through trial and

error.

(A) BEAM robots are not programmed to walk; instead they use brainlike circuits called neural

networks to learn to walk through trial and error

(B) BEAM robots learn to walk through trial and error by using brainlike circuits called neural

networks instead of by programming them

(C) BEAM robots are not being programmed to walk but instead using brainlike circuits called

neural networks and learning to walk through trial and error

(D) brainlike circuits called neural networks are used instead of programming for BEAM robots learning to walk through trial and error

(E) brainlike circuits called neural networks are being used for BEAM robots that learn to walk through trial and error instead of being programmed

Instead of by programming them的主语为BEAM robots,机器人自己不能为自己编程,该句逻辑含义不通”。 。。by using brainlike circuits called.....instead of by programming them....

BEAM robots learn to walk through trial and error (by using brainlike circuits called neural networks instead of) by programming them。

Analogy:

I gave myself a break.  (CORRECT)
I gave me a break.  (INCORRECT)

I refreshed my brain by giving myself a break.  (CORRECT)
I refreshed my brain by giving me a break.  (INCORRECT)

Robots learn to walk through T&E by using circuits (called "N networks") instead of by programming them ...

1. 找平行
by programming them
by using circuits

Analogy:
I study GMAT by reading the OG.
"by reading the OG"这里动词read的subject是我。

Many people find them beautiful just as they are. them可以直接作为宾语指代前面的主语,这个例子与本题有什么区别?

BEAM robots learn to walk through trial and error by programming them。

Many people find them beautiful just as they are. them可以直接作为宾语指代前面的主语,这个例子与本题有什么区别?"
