B where不能修饰buds
C protect应该是protects，因为发出者是layer
D since和therefore语义重复
E where不能修饰buds

求问这里的A分号分割两个句子能不能算是平行的关系？如果判断they指的是buds还是needles呢？另外B选项里面的so that前面可以加逗号的么？
