now that是搭配使用的，可以连接句子，并非单独的that从句。

个人认为，now that在该句中的含义接近so that，表示逻辑递进。

同位语从句是用完整的句子修饰某个名词，例如the discovery that。。。

这句话是so。。。that结构，没有看出that从句修饰某个名词，因此应该不是同位语从句。

1、GMAT对主从句的时态不会硬性规定要一致，时态主要由句意决定。

2、对的，一样是连词，连接句子。

关于B选项有些疑问。除了both and 的平行问题，OG上还说and hoping和前面的winning平行，造成时态上的语义错误。
关于这个“and hoping”，我的看法是“COMMA AND”后面应该接independent clause，显然hoping to continue...不是independent clause，所以错误。我这个看法对么？

COMMA AND后面是可以不跟independent clause么？什么情况下跟independent clause？什么情况下是OG说的这种平行呢？
